Manifesto
To everyone building Europe,
You don't need a seat in Brussels to shape what Europe becomes. You need to understand how it works, see the facts behind the decisions, and have the tools to do something with what you find.
That's what we're making. An open place where information is clear, sources are public and tools are free to use. Anyone can pick up the work and carry it further, whether a researcher in Paris, an engineer in Milan or a teacher in Berlin.
We are makers. We build in the open. And there's room for you.
The European Makers
Who it's for
- Learn
- Start with the guide to the European Union — its institutions, its powers, how a law is made, and how the money moves.
- Dashboards
- See the numbers themselves — population, national contributions, and where the EU budget is spent, by country and by year.
- Builders
- Researchers and engineers can read the same scripts, sources and methodology this site runs on, and build on any of it.
- Creators
- Journalists, educators and other creators can take the same figures and sources and tell the story in their own words.
- Traceable
- Every number carries a citation to a primary source.
- Comparable
- Figures are normalised to a common classification.
- Revisable
- Every publication carries a revision number. Earlier versions stay public and reachable.
- Neutral
- The system presents figures and their sources. It does not editorialise.
